Support for equipment with a mixture of inverter manufacturers and models
Ethernet Inverters for control of mixed power plants

The system can also be installed in power plants with a mixture of inverters of different makes and models, making it possible to offer solutions for power plants with more diverse configurations. For example, we can support power plants that are partially composed of inverters of different makes and models for the purpose of using them as emergency power sources in the event of a disaster, or for the purpose of utilizing subsidies.
※Ethernet inverter heterogeneous support is a chargeable option.
※Depending on the model and combination of inverters, it may not be compatible. Please contact us for details.

In addition, it is possible to support equipment with a mixture of inverter makers and models.

The system enables monitoring of metering values for configurations including smart meters, and can be used for industrial PPA projects. The acquired metering values can be checked on the L・eye monitoring screen and the Solar Link ZERO web application screen, and can also be downloaded as a CSV file. In addition, the system enables the calculation of electricity charges and can be used for billing electricity users.

Photovoltaic Power Generation Trends Toward In-House Consumption

In response to declining feed-in tariffs and rising industrial electricity prices, more and more facilities and businesses are choosing to consume the solar power they generate rather than sell it to power companies.

Electricity is moving from the age of “selling” to the age of “using.
What are the challenges facing self-consumption power generation?
The inverter stops working

Reverse power flow occurs when there is excessive power generation. If the contract with the power company prohibits reverse power flow, the inverter will shut down.

Task 1
High power generation loss

If the output of the inverter is reduced to match the minimum power consumption to avoid excessive power generation, the power generation system cannot be used to its fullest potential.

Task 2
Solar Legato is the solution
Patented technology maximizes power generation
This system has been patented (Patent No. 6364567) as a power generation control system that automatically controls the output of inverters using output command values calculated by a proprietary formula. The system automatically controls the inverter in accordance with fluctuations in power consumption, reducing the risk of reverse power flow, and also enabling effective use of power generated and maximization of power generated, which was previously excessively suppressed.

Solar Legato Control Technology

Patented tracking control
Automatic control according to power consumption
When the generated power exceeds the consumed power, the system controls the generated power at a fixed percentage of the consumed power according to arbitrarily set parameters to reduce the occurrence of reverse power flow. Appropriate tracking control ensures that the generated power is used to the maximum extent possible.

Proportionality coefficient A (%)
Percentage of maximum power generation to power consumption

Fixed constant B (kW)

The inverter capacity is limited to avoid reverse power flow and therefore cannot generate maximum power.

When Solar Legato is installed
Controls following the power consumption and effectively utilizes the power generated for the conventional over-control.

In addition,
a new control method has been introduced!
Inverter pickup controlPatent pending ※Some inverters may not be eligible. Please contact us for details.
The time lag associated with control has been largely eliminated by reducing the communication load through “inverter pickup control,” a unique algorithm that controls by narrowing down the number of inverters, and by modifying the system to measure only power consumption at high speed. In addition, control command values are calculated based on actual power generated. Control commands for inverters are given with more optimal control values.
※Control is performed as needed with timing that matches changes in power consumption.

Securing Generated ElectricityMaintenance of asset values

Detailed power generation status, including numerical values for each inverter, can be checked and notifications are sent via e-mail in the event of an abnormality.
Power generation losses are minimized through precise monitoring and prompt notification in the event of abnormalities, and detailed power generation data can be saved to help prove asset value.

    Power Generation Diagnosis
    Aging Analysis

Calculates system output factor, equipment utilization factor, inverter conversion efficiency, and module conversion efficiency, and displays graphs showing changes in the power plant over time.

    Diagnosis of power outage

For all inverters in a power plant, power outage is detected when 0 kW is generated for longer than the set time. Diagnostics can also be performed while inverter control is in progress as long as the control rate is above a set minimum value.

    Aging Analysis Screen
    Transformer substation area

Obtains and displays numerical control information such as power purchase, power consumption, and control setting values (A value/B value).

    Control parameter setting

Set the control settings for power generated relative to power consumed and to prevent RPR* from being activated.

*RPR (reverse power relay) detects reverse power flow and stops the inverter.

    Control Parameter Setting Screen
    self-consumption control override function

This can be used to temporarily stop control, for example, to check the operation of an inverter.

Time of day control setting/control calendar

The value of the control setting can be set for each hour. It is effective to make settings for lunch breaks and holidays, when demand for electricity decreases. The control calendar allows you to check the status of time-of-day control settings on the calendar and change the settings.

Specification Details
installation requirement

・Reverse power relay shall be installed.
・The inverter must be of a manufacturer and model compatible with Solar Legato. ※1
・Ability to set a slope time suitable for self-consumption control.
・The number of inverters is limited to the number that can be measured by a single Solar Link ZERO unit.
・Either power consumption, purchased power, or both must be measured. ※2
・Control using stop/standby bits may be necessary when equipment capacity is large and consumption is low. ※3

※1.Since there is a time lag in control, the longer the measurement interval of the inverter, the less it can be properly controlled.
※2.Must be an instantaneous value measured by analog or RS-485 (multimeter, etc.). Conversion from pulses is not possible.
In addition, if the measurement of purchased power continues to fail, power generation will stop.
Please consider measurement with a multimeter, etc., taking into account the results of prior communication checks, etc.
※3.To prevent reverse power flow from occurring due to sudden power generation due to large fluctuations in power generation caused by solar radiation fluctuations (especially when the capacity per unit is large).

Operating environment ※We do not guarantee the operation of the site in other environments.
■Remote monitoring PC
OS Windows 11 ( 32bit / 64bit )
Browser Google Chrome / Mozilla Firefox / Microsoft Edge (All of these are the latest versions)
■PC for control setting
・A premises network to connect a PC for control settings is required (direct connection to the measuring machine is also acceptable).
・A separate Internet subscription is required to use the remote monitoring system.
